Renew or die

FABLE OF THE EAGLE

The eagle is the bird that has the greatest longevity of their species. It can live up to 70 years. But getting to that age, at 40 years of life it has to take a serious decisión. At 40, its nails are curved and flexible, it fails to grasp the prey on which it feeds. Its beak is elongated and pointed, and is curved pointing to his chest. Its wings are aged and heavy and the feathers are thick. Flying is now very difficult! Then the eagle has only two alternatives: die or face a painful renovation process that will last 150 days.

The process is to fly to the summit of a mountain and refuge in a nest near a wall where it does not need to fly. Then once it has found that place, the eagle starts hitting its beak against the wall until it falls off. Once off, it waits for a new beak to grow with which it will pull of his claws. When the new claws begin to be grow, it continues pulling out old feathers. And after five months it comes out victorious from his famous flight of renovation. Then it will live for another 30 years.
